About The Law Family Tree
******THIS WEB PAGE IS DEDICATED TO MY COUSIN JOHN LAW WHO PASSED IN 2014*****

Created this site while at home on disability and after 30 years of (off and on) research on both the Heffelfinger side and the Law sides.

Mary Law was born Martha Heffelfinger to Harvey D. and Malinda C. Heffelfinger of Carlisle, PA. Malinda died of sepsis during childbirth with a son who also perished. Martha was sent to a boarding school (turned out to be an orphanage) and Harvey would send money and visit. When a couple named Robert Law and Sarah McCourt Bain Law who were childless wanted to adopt her. Harvey agreed and they changed her name to Mary Law. She continued to keep in touch with her bio family.

Robert Law, my father who came to this country from Scotland at age 18 along with 2 brothers, Daniel and John. I was told my Great Uncle Robert Law (Mom's adoptive father) paid to bring the boys over to the US. Mom and Robert Law became sweet on each other and the rest is history!

So Robert Law is not only my paternal great Uncle but he is also my Grandfather.

Dedicated to cousins John Law and Daniel Folgelberg 1951-2007

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
